We saw bats tonight, the bats lurking under Congress Bridge. They swam out in trickles into the night, fizzling out of sight like fireworks. They looked odd, like brown fish, chittering below us, darting between bridge and sky.
Also saw "Dead President's Club," an unexpectedly funny play about Cal "Sleepy" Coolidge, Harry "DJ Drop dat Bomb" Truman, Lyndon "Bangin' B" Johnson and Richard "Sweatosaur" Nixon all in Purgatory. A bit lumpy at the end, but otherwise great, considering the audience median age was approx. 65 y/o/a. Not to diss older folk, but the humor is not always shared. It's odd to consider that summer ends very soon. Very odd. Towards the end, the days have become fantastical, today crazy streams of bats, yesterday jugglers everywhere... this isn't no "August is cruel month, zomg" or "when be school" thing. I'm looking forward to school, I gotta say... but I'm enjoying a release from stress. Quite a lot.
